I think we all know by now that I love Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes, and well just the brand in general. Over the years I have collected and adored my ever-increasing number of palettes and yet I have never owned a fully matte eyeshadow palette that has really grabbed my attention. There are a lot of matte eyeshadow palettes out there but none quite excited me as much of the launch of the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette [£39.50].
Urban Decay launched 12 entirely new matte neutral shades and put them all into one gorgeous palette, and well, I knew I would have to get it! The palette features neutral mattes that range from cool to warm tones and champion Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System, which gives each shadow a luxurious velvety texture and more pigmentation. First, let’s talk packaging. It rose gold exterior and lettering is certainly eye-catching and the interior has 6 shades across the top and bottom, and of course comes with a big, beautiful mirror. My only little niggle is the small brush that comes with it, granted it’s not of a poor quality or one of those horrendous foam pads on a stick, it is just a little too small in my opinion (but that’s my only complaint).
The 12 shades are gorgeous, and are all ones that I would definitely use. Often when buying an eyeshadow palette it’s is difficult to love each and every shade, as to be honest I’m fairly predictable when it comes to what shades I love. It feels strange to say that I enjoy using each and every shade within this palette. My skin tone is fair and neutral, so I find that I can get away with using both warm and cool toned eyeshadows (yay!). If I had to pick I think my favourite shades would be Instinct and Lethal, I use them both quite often but perhaps Lethal a bit more when I’m going for a more intense eye-look.
What are your thoughts on this palette? Are you a fan of Urban Decay eyeshadows?
