For my birthday way back in July, my ever-so-lovely friend treated me to a new Urban Decay eyeshadow palette, the Naked Basics Palette and the travel size of the Vitamin B6 Complexion Prep Spray. I have been using both of these for a while now and thought that it was about time that I got a post written about my thoughts on the two products. For a start, I think we all know by now that I have a not so little obsession with all things Urban Decay related and so it is no surprise that I have a little biased towards any of their products – but I would never recommend anything that I thought was a complete waste of your money!
Firstly, the Naked Basics Eyeshadow Palette is just so darn cute! It is a lot smaller than I expected but I love it, as always the shadows are very pigmented and work even better with the Eyeshadow Primer Potion as a base. All of the shadows are matte apart from the shade Venus which has a slight champagne-y glitter to it – basically the perfect colour for an inner corner or brow bone highlight! The packaging, is as expected, perfect… it features a large mirror which makes it ideal for travelling and won’t take up too much room either. For £23 you may decide to opt for one of the larger Naked palettes from Urban Decay but I would still definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a pigmented, basic eyeshadow palette.
Secondly, I received the Vitamin B6 Complexion Prep Spray, which I got in travel size as it was my first time trying it out. I can certainly say it makes my everyday make up routine seem a little more glamorous by spritzing my face before applying my make up but I am not 100% sure that it makes any difference… I may be completely wrong but I haven’t really noticed any minimisation in the number of pores on my face. I have noticed a lessening of the redness and oiliness of my skin but whether that is down to this product or to a change in weather, skincare products or anything else then I am not entirely sure what it is doing. I enjoy adding a little bit of extra luxury into my morning routine and I will more than likely continue using this product for the foreseeable future – despite not knowing fully what it is doing for my skin. I wouldn’t say that this step is completely necessary when doing your make up but I would definitely recommend the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.
