I feel like Autumn is well and truly here! Leaves are falling off the trees, the nights are drawing in and there is an unmistaken chill in the air… eagerly prompting me to dig out my winter coats and jumpers in anticipation of the upcoming months. As Autumn comes around I tend to get a little more adventurous with my lip colour but I’m always looking for something long-lasting as I tend to forget that I’m wearing anything on my lips.
[Left to Right: Balm Stain – 005 Crush; Matte Balm – 265 Fierce, 260 Passionate, 270 Fiery & 255 Enchanting]
At the minute I have been repeatedly reaching for the Revlon Balm Stain and Revlon Matte Balms… similar to the Clinique Chubby Stick Lip Colour Balm, they are more like balms than lipsticks but still provide a high pigmentation. The Balm Stains provide a build able, moisturising lip stain that lasts for hours and can be easily reapplied throughout the day. Packaged in a retractable, chubby crayon, it is so easy to throw into your handbag and take with you throughout the day. I definitely prefer the Matte Balms to the Stains, purely over an unhealthy obsession for all matte lipsticks. Nonetheless, the pigmentation of these balms is incredible, the product stains your lips during application so you don’t have to worry about it rubbing off completely during the day. The formula is comfortable to wear on the lips and honestly doesn’t feel as though you are wearing anything other than a lip balm on your lips (probably hence the name!). For just £7.99, I have had so much use out of these lip balms and they will definitely be a staple in my make up bag this Autumn & Winter as well. They do need touching up after eating or drinking anything but that is often expected and something I won’t mark the products down for! Overall, these balms have been a perfect addition to my make up collection and I can’t wait to wear these again with my big, fluffy jumpers and woolly scarves.
