On a recent trip to Boots in Nottingham I picked up a few things that I had been contemplating purchasing for some time. I also decided to pick up a few things that I’d heard people rave about on YouTube and test them out for myself. First things first…
…Primer! I needed to invest in a good primer as I have long since used up all of my The Body Shop Instablur Primer and there was a noticeable difference in the longevity of my make up without the use of a primer. I firstly picked up the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Primer as it is well reviewed, affordable and sufficiently covers up any texture on my face. Secondly, I delved into the high-end beauty counters and decided to try the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer as I’d heard so many great reviews about this product and how it illuminates the skin and provides a flawless base for make up application. The product is absolutely gorgeous, with tiny gold flakes throughout which may appear off-putting to some but they merely provide a glow rather than a shimmer to the skin.
Onto eyeliner… I grabbed the L’Oreal Paris Super Liner as I’d heard Tanya Burr speak highly of the product and for the price, I thought I would give it a go. It has a small sponge nib that applies an even layer of eyeliner and it applies jet black. Another eyeliner I decided to try was the Soap & Glory Supercat Skinny Eyeliner as my regular Supercat Eyeliner has pretty much all dried up. The nib is a lot smaller and I much prefer it to the older version, it is a lot easier to create a small cat-eye and to line my upper lash line.
Finally, I picked up another NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Cannes as it is a beautiful deep pink and looks beautiful when applied. I love the formula of these lip creams, they are smooth and buttery despite being matte they don’t leave your lips looking dry and cracked. I also grabbed another packet of my favourite make up wipes, the No7 Beautiful Skin Quick Thinking Wipes, as they are gentle on my sensitive skin and remove waterproof mascara without too much scrubbing. And that’s it! That’s all the make up I have picked up recently, I believe have been very well restrained but that definitely doesn’t mean I won’t be picking up a few items throughout the rest of September!
