First Impressions – Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Palette

For most people, cleaning your make up brushes is nothing but a chore and it seems like you’re always searching for something to make it that bit easier and quicker.  A while ago Sigma brought out their Express Brush Cleaning Mat which for £25 seemed rather extortionate and so I decided to continue using my tried and tested method of just using my bare hands.  However, Real Techniques have recently launched their own Brush Cleansing Palette for just £14.99!  (Looking back on my Boots receipt I paid £12.99!)

In this post I thought I’d give you my first impressions on this product and whether it’s worth the hype…  The box comes with the palette, complete with varying textured surfaces to provide enhanced deep cleaning for various brushes of all shapes and sizes, as well as two generous samples of the Real Techniques Deep Cleansing Brush Gel which is also something that I haven’t tried before.  The palette is very lightweight and does slide onto my hand easily and comfortably.  Real Techniques have also released a helpful YouTube video demonstrating how to use this palette to the best of it’s ability. (Watch it HERE)

Onto the first impression… the palette is definitely easier and quicker than just using your hand, the different textures on the palette really help to lather up the cleansing gel and getting your brushes clean.  It has really helped speed up the tedious process of cleaning my excessive collection of make up brushes and I would definitely recommend this product.  It is dishwasher safe so you can stick it in there to give it a good clean before it’s next use.  The palette is easy to use when you want to wash all of your brushes or just for the on-the-spot use which is ideal.  The cleansing gel also worked well and it quickly removed the product build up on my brushes, and thankfully isn’t too heavily scented!

All in all it’s a tool that I would highly recommend picking up as it will definitely save you time and make cleaning your brushes that little bit easier…
Love, Em x

I love your brushes and thank you so much for sharing the technique. I use a lot of oil as a primer with my foundation and that stuff is very tough to get rid of. I like the idea of using LUSH products on them. They’re vegan, great for your skin and do a great job of cleansing.
