The beginning of a new month brings forth a whole new set of products to be tried and tested, but firstly I thought I would share some of the products that I have used up during March and let you know whether I would repurchase them or avoid them completely.
I feel like I should have used up a few more products than I actually did, I haven’t added in shampoo or conditioner and anything else may have been thrown away by mistake, but anyway let’s begin…
For skincare I used up the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub which is something I would definitely repurchase. It contained tiny micro-beads that were gentle on my sensitive skin and worked really well to remove any impurities and was refreshing to use on my skin in the morning. I alternated between using this and the Olay Refreshing Facial Cleansing Gel, which doesn’t contain any micro-beads making it perfect for use in the evenings after cleansing and using micellar water to remove my make up.
Secondly, the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water which claims to have 200 uses but I honestly didn’t bother to count everyday that I used it so I can’t really comment on the longevity of the product. Regardless of that, I would still repurchase this micellar water again, it is an affordable price (especially when on offer) and worked well with my sensitive skin.
With regards to beauty products I only really used up four products in March, which seems odd but I regularly rotate through my make up collection, increasing each products longevity. Firstly I used up my Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in the shade Transparent, which is something I swore by until I started using the Bourjois Healthy Balance Compact Powder which I now actually prefer. Despite the slight price difference between the two, I would say that they are fairly similar. I personally think that the Bourjois powder is more finely milled and so applies better and it seems to last longer on my skin.
Secondly, I purchased the travel size Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray a while back and have recently been giving it a run for its money. It kept my make up in place during some hectic days and the spray isn’t too harsh so you don’t feel like you are being blasted with the product. I will definitely be repurchasing this, maybe the bigger bottle so it lasts a little longer as I felt like I went through this bottle in no time at all!
Thirdly, I used up another Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in the shade 2 Cool Medium which is a product that I have been using for a long time. I dread to think how many little tubes of this concealer I’ve used over the years but it is something I can’t live without. The quality of the concealer is amazing to say it’s around the £4 price mark, although the shade range is rather limited so that’s something to bear in mind if you want to try this product out.
Finally a mascara! My Avon Spectra Lash Mascara dried up after a good few months of use and I am still unsure as to my opinion on this mascara… it applied well and didn’t clump up my lashes at all but it didn’t hold a curl and seemed to smudge off during the day. I prefer waterproof mascaras so this product would be brilliant if it came in a waterproof version but until that happens I don’t think I would purchase this product myself (it was given to me as a present)…
During March I also used up the Zoella Let’s Spritz Body Mist, which I won in a competition, and again is a product I don’t think I would repurchase. The scent was very fruity and floral but didn’t last as long as I thought it would, the fragrance faded quite quickly but then again I think all fragrances disappear within hours on me… The packaging is lovely but I am still searching for a fragrance that lasts on me and this just wasn’t it unfortunately.
Now to finish with a product I will definitely, without a doubt, repurchase over and over again! The Lush Whoosh Shower Jelly is one of the best products I have ever had the chance to use, the fragrance is so fresh and uplifting. It is very slippery to use but that just adds to the fun of it, the jelly lasts ages and lathers up really well. It will definitely be one of the first products I pick up when I’m next in a Lush store.
Looks like my shopping list for April has grown since beginning this post, I really do need to repurchase some of these products, symptoms of withdrawal are kicking in…
Love, Em x
